Helen Duncan Biographer - Mary ArmourMaryArmouMaryArmouMary Armour is an astoundingly accurate medium.  She has demonstrated as a communicator for over 30 years. Mary is active in many Spiritualist organizations and is the Founder of the White Rose Fellowship, in her home town of Gourock. She is a leader in the field of developing young mediums and has lectured and taught extensively throughout Europe, Canada, Iceland, Australia and the QE2 too.

She is a leading authority on the life of Helen Duncan and author of "My Living Has Not Been in Vain," a authentic bonafide account of the unfolding life of renowned Scottish medium, Helen Duncan. The book is fascinating and contains the factual testimonies of Helens fateful last sitting and the spoken words of Helen who led Mary to the true facts surrounding her death.

"This Scottish powerhouse of a medium is truly one of the most evidential we've experienced. She's so good, she works well standing right next to Gordon Smith. Must be the Scottish blood. Mary is such a vibrant demonstrator who can also teach. She's tough, she's demanding, but she gets results. I''ve watched her bring out the very best out of very nervous students. She brings a lot of power and experience with her. My wife and I flew from California to watch her in action at a Workshop in London. Superb! And worth the trip. Gordon was very good too."

"Mary Armour has been known to me for approximately 20 years. She is a medium of high ethical standards accompanied by a kind and caring heart. Mary was one of the mediums who participated in a five year study of mediumship by Tricia J Robertson and Professor Archie E Roy. This study produced three peer reviewed papers, which have never to this day been seriously faulted by other serious and dedicated psychical researchers. Mary, along with the other mediums gave of their time willingly as they too would like to understand more of, and test, their own abilities. The mediums worked in experimental conditions that were up to triple blind by design. I believe that Mary said to me “I don’t know if this triple blind will work?”   … but it did.

At a time when people are advertising themselves as mediums, ten a penny, it is hard for the public to know just who they can rely on. This is indeed a great worry as everyone is lumped into the same pot, and it is also a pity. Good mediums can bring hope, comfort and even joy to those who are sad. The others can only lighten a bank balance. Keep up the good work Mary."

“The many years of dedication that Mary has given to the spirit world world have been rewarded with the facts and evidence from Helen Duncan.  Spirit always finds a way of getting the message across and Helen Duncan could not have found a better messenger than Mary Armour or Gordon Smith.”

Edward Nichol, Jedburgh, Scotland

I never gave the spirit world much thought. I always hoped, like most people, that maybe one day you could meet loved ones that had passed on before you. The day I met Mary Armour my whole outlook on the spirit world changed dramatically.  I called on a friend of mine only to be informed that he was out, by a very nice lady, who I now know was Mary Armour and my friend’s mother in law.  After a moment Mary said to me “Did a motorbike dramatically affect your life?”  Before I could answer, Mary said “only the spirit of your father is at your side”.

I just didn’t know what to say as my father was knocked off his motorbike and killed some years earlier. I still think about what Mary said every day and it gives me lots of comfort if ever I feel down.  I am still amazed at what she said to me as the only words I ever said to her was “Good morning, nice day”.

Seemingly so many moons ago, I was a privileged behind the scenes observer of Mary Armour’s inspired and dedicated focus in the research and publication of the true and factual record of the life of Helen Duncan; medium extraordinary.

Although a long time admirer of Mary’s awesome talents, I felt honour bound at that time to express in print my whole-hearted esteem for Mary; of her forthright, sincere and “larger than life” character - so ably inspired to undertake the authorship of the highly acclaimed Duncan biography.

Mary Armour’s impressive qualifications, achievements and related experiences are well documented elsewhere – so let me confine my comments to the implicit faith in the spiritual accord that I believe this remarkable lady demonstrated as Medium – a spiritual communicator so expertly proficient in all the varied guises of spirit interchange.

To the uninitiated, Spiritualist Churches abound in more or less every city, town and indeed most rural areas, not only throughout the United Kingdom but Internationally.   An integral element of the “church service” undertaken in each and every spiritualist church is a demonstration of “proof of life after death”. It therefore leaves little to the imagination; the shear numbers of mediums of every calibre and experience that are active to service these numerous churches as well as those numbers of psychics and mediums who demonstrate at public and private venues.

Having turned 80 years of age and having been a committed Spiritualist for most of my adult life – it has to be acknowledged that I have had longer that most to have witnessed the long procession of those whose practice psychic communication and those who the saying goes “walk the boards”.   I can say with utmost sincerity that hosed streams of demonstrating psychic mediums that I have witnessed in many different venues over these many years I list Mary Armour as being in the company of those most proficient to be counted on just ONE HAND. I have noted, I am of advanced years – because of Mary I have the implicit faith that there is another life so I go forward with the comfort and expectation of a continued existence, albeit on another plane.
